I love talking about trends because, as a curvy woman, just because I can’t fit into the mainstream sizes, doesn't mean I don’t want to follow and wear all of the mainstream trends! Now, some of the trends aren't my thing or don’t work with my body type. However, many can be easily adapted for my figure with various pieces from my fave plus size clothing retailer, SWAK Designs.
In this week's SWAK YouTube exclusive we talk my fave trend of late: BOHO
First up, I love the boho trend. I’m a California girl through and through and through, so the Anthropologie and Free People-esque styles of summer call my name! I have always struggled with achieving this trend, however, because it seems that too much fabric drowns me and has the opposite effect of stylish on me. So often, hippie styles have lots of fabric and aren’t ideal for creating a sleek silhouette (which looks best on me). SWAK Designs has a few items that will help you achieve this look without breaking the bank or making you look like a hobo. Opt for soft chiffon layers and loose summery dresses for casual and stylish looks this season.
Pair your loose fitting tops with skinny jeans or leggings. We've got some great ones in lots of neutrals and, my fave, primary red and chocolate brown too. Many curvy women shy away from bold and bright colors. Not only do they boost your mood, but they can boost others’ moods. There are several gorgeous dresses and plus size tops on the SWAK site, right now, that will add a pop of color to your wardrobe and give you that added style boost you crave.
Lastly, hair and makeup complete any look. Be bold or dainty or sexy chic. Accomplish this trend with a braid tutorial from Pinterest or Youtube.

Until next time, stay fierce and fearless you bodacious beauties!
