For a Job Interview
Dress to impress when you attend your next job interview. The saying goes “you only get to make one first impression” and, in society where we are judged on our looks, it’s important to look put together. A good interview outfit consists of a pencil skirt, structured jacket or tailored pant. As a plus size lady, we have to be careful to keep our first impression conservative with a neckline (at least) one inch above our cleavage. Be and look prepared…carry a portfolio or notepad to show your interviewer that you are paying attention. Bonus! After the interview, review your notepad for follow-up instructions. But most importantly, be confident. Confidence is the perfect way to show your potential new employer that you are a good fit for their company.
During a Road Trip
There’s only one rule: Be casual. Whether you are flying on an airplane or driving across country- comfort is of the utmost importance. No one wants to worry about wrinkles or wedgies and, as a plus size lady, our body temps rise quickly so it’s important to wear lighter fabrics. It’s much easier to put layers on than to take layers off. Traveling seems to call my inner boho, as a faux wrap top and palazzo pants are the perfect traveling companions. You’re gonna need your hands while you travel, so style your outfit with a bucket cross-body bag: it not only fits everything you need, but helps keep your hands-free.
For a PTA Meeting
The mom life is a busy life…you want to look cute and trendy, but you’re totally prepared for that wet hug or snotty kiss. That’s why we love this mom-friendly formula of skinny jeans and a tunic. Tunics hit somewhere between the hips and the knees- which gives the ultimate tummy coverage. As a plus size momma, you’ll appreciate the silhouette this formula gives your body. Throw your families junk in a stylish yet practical tote, and accessorize with a beaded bracelet or necklace. Sometimes it’s the small things- putting together an outfit can be the best type of self-care. And although it’s often neglected, self-care is the fuel that allows your light to shine brightly.
For Date Night
Throw on heels (even if they are kitten)! Need a confidence boost for a date night with your man or girls night with the ladies!? Show off one of your best features- your legs or your cleavage. As a plus size lady, I know some of you may feel self-conscious about either but, I am here to tell you, the voices in your head are wrong. By showing off one feature, you leave your date or the dance floor wanting more. I styled our short Liza Skirt with our romantic Audrey Lace Tank- it’s the perfect blend of sexy and sweet. Play with a statement color like red- wear some red in both your outfit and your lipstick. Tip- Don’t carry a large purse, it’s cumbersome and heavy. Let your outfit do the talking when you style it with a smaller trendy purse.
During your Pregnancy
It might be your first, or it might be your third but, no matter what, you don’t know how big that belly will grow. As a plus size lady, our maternity options are quite limited, but that doesn’t mean we can’t be resourceful. Palazzo pants are the perfect bottoms for when you’re pregnant- no lie! You can pull Palazzo pants on because they have a lot of stretch. The legs are ultra-wide in case your legs or feet swell. AND the waistband can be folded down or over your cute little baby bump. Need a versatile top that can be worn throughout your entire pregnancy? Our Lorena Wrap Cardigan has endless styling opportunities. Let’s be honest- you might as well start practicing carrying a large and heavy tote, like this classic tote design natural jute handbag.
