Meet our Production Team- They make shopping happen!

We believe that fashion should be fun and easily accessible. We believe plus size clothing shouldn't cost more simply because it is designed for a size 14+ figure. We believe you want to know how your clothing is made. Our Fashion Designer has an idea and makes it into a more about this process here.

Meet Mary our Fashion Designer

Where are you from? Los Angeles born and raised.

Where do you get your inspiration? My biggest source of inspiration is from YOU our customers. I love hearing your feedback both positive and negative. We receive so much gratitude from women that have been struggling all their lives to find clothes that make them feel good about themselves. I’m also inspired by street style. I like to see what real people are wearing.

What’s your favorite fashion magazine? Nylon. Flaunt.

What was the biggest risk you ever took and what did you learn from it? I’m actually not a big risk taker, I’m more comfortable taking calculated risks. I need to always feel prepared.

What do you do in your spare time? I love to travel. Travel changes my perspective on the world, it keeps me grounded and humble.

What’s your must have wardrobe piece? The perfect pair of jeans.

Describe your fashion style. SoCal casual. Laid back and easy. Jeans, flowy top and flip tops.

Share with us your three favorite SWAK pieces: The Celia Dress, it’s the perfect throw on and go every day dress. The Pretty Cami great for layering or on its own, we can’t keep enough in stock they sell out season after season. The Eternity Duo Maxi I love seeing #myswakstyle pics of women in their Duo Maxi’s they always look so confident and happy.

Meet Abe our Director of IT

Where are you from? Born and raised in Los Angeles, California. I bleed purple and gold.

What’s the one thing you can’t live without? Pizza, tacos, In-N-Out and my wife.

What was the biggest risk you ever took and what did you learn from it? Biggest risk was leaving the education industry and diving into the world of e-commerce. I learned how much work really goes into listing one item and the manpower it takes to maintain a successful website.

What do you do in your spare time? Backpacking, grilling and sleeping.

Describe your fashion style. From head to toe..cap, tshirt, cargo shorts and Nikes.

Our production team makes shopping happen for you. We’re tearing back our curtain and introducing you to our team because we know you want to be involved. Our clothing is designed by plus size women for plus size women. Next week we introduce you to our wonderful Marketing team..but until then did you meet Amanda? If not, you'll wanna read about our new Director of Marketing here

I really appreciated knowing where my clothes come from and I like the idea that you hired Amanda because she really is the right fit there. You have to love what you sell. I have two stores myself and I know that well. So Congradulations to Amanda and thanks for making clothes for us plus size gals to feel and look great. It wouldn’t be fun to go anywhere without our clothes.

With the advent of sites like bootstrap fashion, do you think SWAK would ever consider having a contest involving your many SWAK fan designing an item for an upcoming season/line? Not trying to put you out of a job or anything like that !?I just think it would’ve fun plus give you even more of a feel for what we like! ?
